About Me
Hi! My name is Sarah Helfgott and I am a public relations major at the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication, graduating in December of 2010.
As a student, I’m still coming into my own and learning the ropes of the public relations industry. It has been a bumpy ride, but I have some good experience under my belt. I’ve worked for a variety of companies including Allen Hall Public Relations Firm, Inspiration Software Co., Grrrlz Rock, and Communicate with CLASS. And since June, I’ve been working at Intel Co. in its PR and Global Communications Group.
Disclaimer: If you’re a regular reader of my blog, you’ve probably noticed that I talk a lot about my work at Intel. The opinions expressed on this blog are my own and I am not speaking on behalf of Intel or its other employees.
If you’re interested in getting in touch with my, you can contact me at sarah.a.helfgott (at) gmail (dot) com. Or, you can find me on Twitter at @SHelfgottPR and on LinkedIn at Linkedin.com/in/sarahhelfgott.
I hope to continue my passion for public relations and social media by using the skills I’ve learned from the University of Oregon School, internships, AHPR and Intel in a professional atmosphere. For the near and distant future, I am open to different types of public relations work. I am interested in both corporate public relations and agency public relations. I would also love to work as a social media specialist, beauty editor, or public relations practitioner for a beauty magazine or a cosmetics company.
Some non PR-related details about me:
I author a beauty blog called The Confessions of a Product Junkie, in which I write about the beauty industry and give product reviews and recommendations.
I’ve been a member of the Psi Alpha chapter of Chi Omega sorority for four years. It’s where I’ve met some of best, brightest and most beautiful people I’ve ever known.
